Maipayat-Vyayam
Maipayat or Maipayattu, also known as Vyayam, is an ancient Vedic martial and healing art. It is the basic training for indian dance, performance and martial arts (Kalaripayat or Kalaripayattu).
It is also used as self-healing dynamic yoga therapy in Ayurveda (Traditional Indian Medicine).Maipayat is philosophically based on Tantra, Yoga and Ayurveda.
The essence of Maipayat is in the breath. (´to tame the inner breath´) Through rhythmical breathing we distribute the energy through our body and fully energize, balance, rejuvenate and train our body from within. This Vedic discipline is so ancient, precise, subtle and integral, it connects you so deeply to your breathing, that you will take this awareness of breathe immediately with you in your daily life.
The fact that through coordination of breath and movement we use our entire organism, every cell, every muscle, all points of energy in connection with each other, our toes becoming as aware as our fingers, makes it, for me, so extra-ordinary. Therefore I ´d like to share this knowledge with you. It is great for all people, all ages and all backgrounds, as the importance of awareness of breath counts for all people on this planet... And for people working professionally with their body and voice (dancers, actors, singers, martial artists, yoga teachers, massage therapists etc) it is a very effective way to master your projection of energy it is a very effective way to deepen you awareness, train your body from within starting from your breath . My aim is to encourage as many people as possible to breathe deeper, with awareness, joy and to celebrate together!! Therefore I hope you spread the word and come to breathe and celebrate!
